v0.2 Update
My home group finished up our previous campaign and I have gotten a spot at PAX AUS to run Autostede, so we decided to start playtesting. One session in and a whole host of small problems emerged, most of which have been addressed with this new version.
The main difference is that now stedes come in four size classes; Pet, Pack, Large and Giant. Each size class then has a selection of build, which replaces what was the center module. I also reworked the hex map on the character sheet to better suit the new direction, meaning each size class has its own play sheet.
More playtests are on the books this month so expect more changes, but the players had a great time with the core mechanic, as dense and unintuitive as it is. It definitely reinforced that I will need to write more supportive and example text, but the game is FUN so it's worth it.
In the mean time, the first piece of art has been started, and it looks AMAZING. It definitely solidified the need for us to have a flying class in the game, which this shuffle could have cut out had I not been specifically aware of it.
