Wild Dinosaurs
What a rollercoaster this playtest has been! I went through and added a new set of enemies to match up to the new stede play sheets soon after the last update, and every time I went to post the updated book I had another new idea.
Teamwork
I've added a teamwork mechanic, where after you roll you leave the dice on your play sheet and then can spend them to give help to your teammates. I've tested it and it gives the right feeling, but it makes everything much easier if you work together which... I mean that's the point, but it shouldn't be a given that you'll win every encounter. The balance might still need tweaking but the mechanics is good.
Enemies
Yes! Until now there have been vague implications for the types of enemies you could field, but with the new stede class system I realised that I would have to match up the available enemy types. I've provided three for each size, a solo hunter, a small pack and a large pack, with some tactics describing how to run them. How I write the enemies may change in future updates, but I've run these and they work fine.
Layout
I went through and cleaned up the layout as well, pulling all of the sections apart and giving them some space to breathe. I also increased the text size a little, which should make it easier to read if printed out as an A5 booklet, as it is intended.
Art
The first piece of internal art is nearing completion, and is looking AMAZING. I have attached the latest WIP so you can see it, and I hope to raise a little more to push for more art.
The Future
Next up I have a few ideas brewing, namely a set of play examples to help explain the systems and mechanics, and a collaborative worldbuilding system alongside rules for a hex crawl so that the game can work in more extended campaigns.
